On Friday 5th April 2024 at 17:51 UTC, Danny ON4VT, a radio amateur from Belgium, made contact with Chas NK8O, a radio amateur from Louisburg, KS, who was operating from King Prairie Access (KFF-6660), on the 15m amateur radio band. Chas made a total of 48 contacts while at the reserve.

King Prairie Access (KFF-6660), in Missouri, covers an area of 115 hectares; this includes woodland, savanna, warm-season grass plantings and old fields. The area is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation who are working to restore the area by planting new trees, removing some non-native trees and proscribing burning to encourage the regeneration of native flora species.
