On Tuesday 28th March 2023, Masanori JO2BWZ/2, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kuwasaliyama and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 26 contacts in total working on the 40 and 30 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Kuwasaliyama is 1728 metres (5669 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Kuwasaliyama is in the Gifu prefecture on Honshu Island.
