From the management of drugstore chains, to the manufacture of loudspeakers, and the importation of electronics, he had a fascinating and varied career. Most recently, he retired as the Chairman and CEO of KLH Audio Systems, a prominent consumer electronics company.

After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War, Lavere attended Montana University, where he graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Furthering his education, he attended the University of Washington where he received a Masters Degree in Business.
