Through his family's charitable foundation, NBA player LeBron James, opened the 'I Promise' school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
The school is currently home to 240 at-risk 3rd and 4th graders.
The school provides free tuition, uniforms, breakfast and lunch, a bicycle and helmet, access to a food pantry for every student's family, and guaranteed tuition to the University of Akron for all graduates of the school.
The school will even help the students' parents with job placement and acquiring GEDs.
By 2022, the school will be open for grades 1 through 8.
