Märket lighthouse

Märket lighthouse

Eckerö, Finland (FI)
It has a very interesting story: The lighthouse was built by the Finns but there was no precise map available. Then it was realized that the lighthouse stood on Swedish territory so the international border between Sweden and Finland had to be reshaped on the island in order for Finland to get it back as well as in order for the two countries not to lose any land so they created an S-shaped border line around the lighthouse.
