On Tuesday 2nd April 2024 at 09:18 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Jean-Pierre F8NUH/P, a radio amateur from France who was operating from Marais de Lavours (FFF-3494), on the 20m amateur radio band. Jean-Pierre made a total of 143 contacts while at the reserve.
Marais de Lavours (FFF-3494)[Lavours Marsh] is a Type 1 ZNIEFF Area which covers 1710 hectares of marshes in the Rhone-Alpes Region of France to the east of the city of Lyon in the south-east of France.
ZNIEFF is a scientific list of natural areas which are of interest ecologically for both fauna and flora. A Type 1 area is a homogeneous landscape which is defined by its rare species or habitat types and is an important natural area.
