On Saturday 10th September 2022, Pedro EAHCF and EA4STS, a radio amateur from Spain reached the summit of Montón de Trigo and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 171 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Montón de Trigo is 2157 metres (7077 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
