On Tuesday 6th December 2022, Alex EA8DKV, a radio amateur from Tenerife reached the summit of Montaña del Cedro and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 64 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 20, 17 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
