On Saturday 10th September 2022, Paul VA6MPM and Peter VE6FPV, two radio amateurs from Alberta, Canada reached the summit of Mount Bowlen and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 15 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Mount Bowlen is 3072metres (10079 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
