On Wednesday 5th October 2022, Jamie EA2/N6JFD/P, a radio amateur from San Diego, CA reached the summit of Peña de Riste and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 15 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Peña de Riste is 2113 metres (6932 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
