On Saturday 20th April 2024, Marcio PY2TTN, a radio amateur from Sao Paulo, Brazil reached the summit of Pico do Itaguaré and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 12 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 10m amateur radio bands.
