On Tuesday 5th September 2023, Manuel HB9DQM/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland, reached the summit of Pizzo di Röd and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 27 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
