On Thursday 7th September 2023, HB9DQM/P & HB9HRM/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland, reached the summit of Pizzo Massari and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 42 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m, 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pizzo Massari is 2760 metres (9055 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
