On Wednesday 9th August 2023, Carine HB9FZC/P & Rene HB9NBG/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland, reached the summit of Pizzo Nero and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 18 contacts in total working on the 20m amateur radio band.

The summit of Pizzo Nero is 2904 metres (9528 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
