On Friday 29th October 2022, Manuel HB9DQM/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Pizzo Solögna and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 17 contacts in total working on the 2metre VHF and the 30 and 17 amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pizzo Solögna is 2698 metres (8852 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
