Protected Natural Area (Free Hunt Area) of Huetstock, Wolfenschiessen, NW (HBFF-0034)

On Monday 25th March 2024 at 12:05 UTC, Thomas DL1DVE, a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Marcel HB9TWM/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland who was operating from the Protected Natural Area (Free Hunt Area) of Huetstock, Wolfenschiessen, NW (HBFF-0034) on the 40m amateur radio band.

Protected Natural Area (Free Hunt Area) of Huetstock, Wolfenschiessen, NW (HBFF-0034), is a protected area of 3,503 hectares lying in the canton of Wolfenschiessen to the south of the city of Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland. It appears as a Free Hunt Area on the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments maintained by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). and is is an IUCN Management Category IV area.

Marcel was at the summit of Salistock while he was as the reserve and made a total of 38 contacts for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
