On Sunday 13th August 2023, Jo I1WKN/P, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Punta Dondogna and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 26 contacts in total working on the 70cm, 2m, 6m, 17m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Punta Dondogna is 2549 metres (8363 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
