On Saturday 22nd July 2023, Mario IU1DOF/P, a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Rocco Verde and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 36 contacts in total working on the 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
