On Friday 8th July 2022 Mario IU1DOF/P a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Testa della Costabella del Piz and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 30 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
