On Friday 8th September 2023, Herbert N7HG & Charlie NJ7V, two radio amateurs from the state of Arizona, reached the summit of Roof Butte and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 48 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
