On Wednesday 26th July 2023, Doug PY1II, a radio amateur from Brazil, reached the summit of Serra das Antas and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 14 contacts in total working on the 70cm, 2m, 15m, 20m and 10m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Serra das Antas is 1919 metres (6296 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
