On Friday 21st October 2022, Yuki JF1NDT/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Shiraneasan and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 24 contacts in total working on the 70cm and the 40, 30 and 17 metre amateur radio bands.

Shiraneasan is in the Tochigi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
