Small Cemetery Behind Roskilde Cathedral

Roskilde Cathedral is known for containing the grave sites of many of the Danish kings and queens. The Cathedral is also a UNESCO heritage site - the second site in Denmark, at the time, to have that title.

However, behind the church near the Absalon Arch lies a small cemetery containing only five graves. Not much is known about this cemetery and not much information can be found on the internet.

The cemetery is on a small patch of grass and has not wall surrounding it. The graves are old and only two of them can be read, but those two are still pretty hard to read.

I could read that one of the people buried there was a school headmaster and the grave next to him was a priest. The other three are most likely priests that have worked at the cathedral.

In the 18. century and up to end mid 19. century there was a cemetery around the cathedral. This stone is part of that cemetery.
