On Monday 17th July 2023, Tetsuya JL1SDA/6, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Soosan and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 20 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m and 15m and amateur radio bands.
