On Tuesday 16th August 2022, Ioan OE/YO5IA/P and Mihaela OE/YO5MCM/P two radio amateurs from Romania reached the summit of Spielmann and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 41 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Spielmann is 3027 metres (9931 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
