Statue of King Christian IV at Roskilde Cathedral

Statue of King Christian IV at Roskilde Cathedral

Roskilde, Denmark (DK)
Made by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen in 1845. It was meant to be a part of a huge tomb for King Christian IV, but the tomb was never made. So instead Thorvaldsens copper statue stands at the entrance to the chapel of Christian IV.

The original statue from 1840 is at Thorvaldsens Museum near Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen.
