The Pinzgauer, named for a breed of horse, was used in the military for its off-road and utility prowess, until being made mostly obsolete as they were vulnerable to mines. These Pinzgauers have been modified by Alpine Adventures for tourism purposes, and their website erroneously states that these vehicles are Swiss when in reality they are Austrian, as they were made by Steyr-Daimler-Puch.
