Hawk, possibly Swainson's or Red-tailed (I have no expertise, simply looked up hawks in S. Dakota). Beside it, in the grass, what appears to be animal remains (warning for some blood, though the animal is obscured and unidentifiable). Crows perching in same spot as hawk earlier.
