On Thursday 4th April 2024 at 12:50 UTC, Raoul ON4LQ, a radio amateur from Belgium, made contact with Luc ON2LVC/P, a radio amateur from Belgium, who was operating from Tommelen (ONFF-0849), on the 40m amateur radio band. Luc made a total of 61 contacts while at the reserve.
Tommelen (ONFF-0849), is a small protected area of 12 hectares which lies to the east of Brussels in the east of Belgium. It was designated as a Flemish Region Certified Nature Reserve in 2008 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area Is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
