The house, designed by renowned architect Ralph Twitchell, was built in the late 1960s and features terrazzo floors, cypress paneling, and a guest house beside a swimming pool. Carlson purchased the home for $2.9 million in 2020. He had previously owned several properties in the Washington, D.C. area, most recently a 7,400-square-foot residence in the upscale Kent neighborhood, which he bought in 2017 for $3.895 million and sold for $3.895 million after protests at his home.

Tucker Carlson was born in 1969 in San Francisco, California and moved to San Diego after his parents' 1976 divorce.
