The Baguari Hydroelectric Plant is located on the middle Rio Doce, in the municipality of Governador Valadares, in Minas Gerais, and has an installed capacity of 140 MW, enough to supply a city of 450,000 inhabitants.

The undertaking was the first of the Eletrobras Furnas System, and the fourth in the country, above 30 MW, to use bulb-type turbines, indicated for smaller waterfalls, such as the one in the unit, which is only 18 meters high.
