The Rosal Hydroelectric Power Plant is a Grupo Rede de São Paulo venture that started operating in December 1999. It was acquired by CEMIG in December 2004, being the first CEMIG plant outside the state of Minas Gerais. It is located on the Itabapoana River, between the municipalities of São José do Calçado in the south of Espírito Santo, and Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, northwest of Rio de Janeiro.
