The Retiro Baixo Hydroelectric Power Plant is a Brazilian project for electricity generation, built on the lower course of the Paraopeba River, between the Minas Gerais municipalities of Curvelo and Pompéu. The area flooded by the reservoir is 22.58 km², for an installed capacity of 82 MW, in two Kaplan units with vertical axis, with a unit capacity of 41 MW. The same Paraopeba river, a few kilometers downstream from the Retiro Baixo HPP, flows into the lake of the Três Marias Hydroelectric Power Plant.
