On Saturday 8th October 2022, Aleksander S57S/P, a radio amateur from Slovenia, reached the summit of Vajnež and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 29 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Vajnež is 2104 metres (6903 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
