On Friday 22nd March 2024 at 10:26 UTC, Markus HB9DIZ, a radio amateur from Switzerland made contact with Juerg HB9BIN/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland, who was operating from Val Roseg Emerald Sites, Pontresina (GR) (HBFF-0544) on the 40m amateur radio band.
Juerg made 94 contacts in total while he was in this reserve and was the first to activate it for the World Wide Flora & Fauna in amateur radio group.
Val Roseg Emerald Sites, Pontresina (GR) (HBFF-0544), is a protected area of 1,840 hectares lying on the north side of the Bernina Range in the canton of Graubünd, in Switzerland.
