On Friday 14th June 2024, radio club "SOTA Deutsche Alpen" DA20XOTA, a group of radio amateurs from Germany, reached the summit of Westliche Karwendelspitze and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
The club made 62 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m , 30m, 15m and 10m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Westliche Karwendelspitze is 2385 metres (7825 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
