On Wednesday 15th March 2023, JO2BWZ/2, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yamanakayama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 22 contacts in total working on the 40, 30, 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Yamanakayama is 1631 metres (5351 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Yamanakayama is in the Gifu Prefecture on Honshu Island.
