I used to live in the hall both before, during and after the Christies sale. Before Christies were called in, all the best stuff was removed. When Christies saw what they were to sell they immediately had a sophisticated alarm system installed.
The sale made £6,250,000.
I consider myself very lucky to have lived quite a few years in such a fantastic, over the top house...even if it meant keeping secret about the value of it's contents!
