Cauberg hill

The Cauberg is a hill in Valkenburg aan de Geul, a city in the Netherlands. The length of the climb is around 1200 m, with a maximum grade of 12%.

Road Cycling

The Amstel Gold Race finishes on the Cauberg since 2003. The race often finishes with an uphill sprint of a small group on the Cauberg. During the race the riders have climbed the Cauberg two times before the final summit.

The Cauberg has been used in several other Dutch cycling races as the Eneco Tour, the Ster ZLM Toer, the Olympia's Tour and Dutch National Road Racing Championships. Three Grand-Tour's have included the Cauberg in their route: the 1992 Tour de France, the 2006 Tour de France and the 2009 Vuelta a España.

The UCI Road World Championships has been centered four times (1938, 1948, 1979 & 1998) around the Cauberg and the 2012 UCI Road World Championships will also have the Cauberg included in its route.
