79 Danish soldiers of WW 1 who were in service for the German Reich are buried here. More than 4,000 were in German service since Southern Jutland (Sonderjylland) became German after the Schleswig War in 1864. 1920 it became Danish again.

Thousands of danes are buried in German cemeteries in Belgium and France, other were never found after the war.
