The former London Fire Brigade Headquarters on the Albert Embankment opened in 1937 and closed in 2007 when a move was made to a new HQ. The building had seven doors for appliances and, as well as being a working fire station, housed the administrative offices for the London Fire brigade. Opposite the building is the pier from which the LFB operate their river craft.
