Naval Reactor Training Site

The Windsor Site of the Knolls Atomic Power Lab trained over 14,000 Naval operators on the S1C Prototype Reactor at the Nuclear Propulsion Training Unit (NPTU).

Its operations contaminated soils, buildings and equipment surfaces with uranium and other radioactive materia. In 2006 full remediation of the site was completed.
