Longwood, Saint Helena (SH)

The Plantation House is home to the Governor of Saint Helena and a 184 year old tortoise named Jonathan.

The house was built by the East India Company in 1791 as a summer residence for the Governor. The dwelling became the permanent residence for the governor as it offered a less arid climate.
