The Salyut 7/Cosmos 1686 space station fell back to Earth February 7, 1991. Many fragments came down in Argentina. One of the larger bits fell in a field at El Chañar, in the north of Entre Ríos province. It's the leftover of the interface through which 21 cosmonauts crawled onboard, among them the first woman spacewalker - Svetlana Yevgenyevna Savitskaya.

This large piece can be seen in Google Earth, lying near the amateur astronomical observatory of Oro Verde.
