Happy 30th birthday to Brazilian superstar footballer Neymar! Considered to be one of the best soccer players in the world, Neymar may also be the highest paid athlete in any sport. His five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain pays him $78 million per year and he earns $20-40 million more in endorsements with brands including Nike, Panasonic, and Volkswagen. With all that cash flowing in, it should be no surprise that he has been attached to some incredible real estate.

Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. was born in 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil near São Paulo. His father was a footballer and recognized his son’s talent at an early age. When Neymar was 17 years old, he signed his first major contract with Brazilian club Santos. Santos tried to keep him long term with a $20 million dollar deal, but Neymar knew he could earn more playing in Europe. Though Neymar left to play professionally in Europe on a $119-million deal with Barcelona in 2013, he has remained a fixture on the Brazilian National Team since 2010, including two World Cup tournaments.

Neymar’s Resort Villa, Mangaratiba, Brazil

Neymar maintains a lavish oceanside villa near Rio de Janeiro in the resort of Mangaratiba. This 2.5-acre property has indoor/outdoor pools, a tennis court, a helipad, and a jetty where he docks his Embraer Phenom 100E yacht. In 2020, Neymar invited several of his friends and family members to stay here during COVID isolation. He briefly came under fire for sharing photos of him and his friends playing volleyball before he was able to clarify that they were all quarantining together for 14 days before joining their families. If only we all had friends like Neymar!

Neymar played for Barcelona from 2013-2017 where he teamed up with fellow stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to form the famed “MSN” trio of attackers. Their prolific offense led Barca to a Champions League finals win in 2015.

Though lacking a helipad and yacht jetty, Neymar’s pad in Castelldefels near Barcelona was nothing to scoff at!

In 2017, Neymar was transferred to Paris Saint-Germain in a record €222-million deal and signed his massive contract. He now rents a 10,000-square-foot, 5-story mansion in Bougival, France for €14,000 per month. This stylish modern mansion features a sauna, Turkish bath, and a 5,000-square-meter garden. He is not the first famous person to reside here—French actor Gerard Depardieu is a former resident of this luxurious abode.

Since joining PSG, Neymar has continued to succeed with his team and individually. In 2020, PSG made their first-ever Champions League final, a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich. Neymar scored his 400th goal on November 6, 2021 in a win over Bordeaux.

With all this success on the pitch and at the bank, Neymar’s 30th birthday is sure to be a good day!
