Happy Birthday, Britney!

Britney Spears has an image as America’s teenage music star, but on December 2, she’ll turn 39 years old. After the wild ride she’s had the last few years, and again these last few months, maybe what she needs is a low-key birthday celebration to get feeling back in the groove.

Let’s take a look at Britney’s past and where she might blow out her birthday candles this year.

Childhood Home in Kentwood, LA

Britney Spears grew up Louisiana with her brother, sister, and mom and dad in Kentwood, LA, about 90 minutes north of New Orleans. From a very early age, it was clear she had an incredible talent for singing and performing on stage.

Earlier this year, her family put the house up for sale, with the caveat that whoever buys the 2,300 square foot, three bedroom ranch style home cannot turn it into anything that cashes in on her celebrity and fame.

Parent’s Home in Kentwood, LA

When Britney hit it big, one of the first things she did was purchase a bigger, nicer home for her parents on the outskirts of their hometown, Kentwood, LA. What she purchased was a 6,500 square foot custom-built house named “Serenity”. Her mom still lives there, and we assume her dad does too, since they reconciled their relationship in 2010. Britney stays here when she visits her family.

Since her rise to fame, Britney has lived in several locations, many of them extremely fabulous mansions. She bought this 20-acre estate in 2015 for $7.4 million.

The main house is about 12,500 square feet and has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and is designed to resemble an Italian villa. The mansion is behind not one but two security gates, to keep the super famous celebrity safe from her less restrained fans.

It also has a pool and pool house complete with a full granite kitchen, a small golf course, and a massive wine cellar. Britney spends a lot of time here with her two boys, so it would make sense that she chooses to spend her birthday with them, and the house certainly has enough to keep them entertained.

Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV

While Britney grew up in Louisiana and lives in California, she has a long history with Las Vegas, Nevada. In January 2004, Britney married her longtime friend Jason Allen Alexander at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.

The chapel is famous for its quick marriages, with a drive-through service, and catering to celebrity weddings. Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Michael Jordan, and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were all married there. The chapel has ten ministers, and says they have married more than 800,000 couples.

Britney came back to Vegas for a longer stay, doing a two-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. During 2014 and 2015, she performed 100 shows. The event was so popular, she extended for two more years, doing nearly 250 performances by the time the show closed.

Nearly a million people saw Britney perform. She reportedly made $500,000 per show, an insane salary for even the most talented performer!

Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino is a relatively new casino, opening its doors in 2007. The resort has three floors dedicated to gambling, a gorgeous pool, two fine dining restaurants, and more.

Since she came to fame as a teenager, Britney has spent a lot of time in front of cameras and performing. But this year, hopefully she’ll enjoy the moment when everyone sings to her, even if it is an amateur version of Happy Birthday. And hopefully she’ll celebrate in a place as awesome as she is.
