On Saturday 11th March 2023, Brian BX2AKP, a radio amateur from Taiwan reached the summit of 合歡山北峰 (Hé Huān Shān Běi Fēng) and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 16 contacts in total working on the 17 and 12 metre HF amateur radio bands.
