This is an impressive monument for Abu 'Abd Allāh Ja'far ibn Muḥammad al-Rūdhakī which incorporates a sculpture of Rudaki standing below a beautiful arch amidst a magnificent array of fountains. At the centre of Rudaki Park in Dushanbe.

Abu 'Abd Allāh Ja'far ibn Muḥammad al-Rūdhakī, often referred to as “the Adam of Poets” was born in 858, close to the town of Panjikent in present day Tajikistan.

Rūdhakī is widely regarded as the founder of classical Persian literature and was not only an acclaimed poet but also a singer and musician. He remains to this today a strong binding force in the national identity of Tajikistan.
