On Tuesday 11th July 2023, HB9HRM/P & HB9BIN/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Alphubel and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 35 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Alphubel is 4206 metres (13799 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
