Alvord Lake Bridge (Birds Eye)
Alvord Lake Bridge on Kezar Drive in Golden Gate Park conveys traffic above a pedestrian footpath through the park. The bridge survived the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 and is believed to be the oldest existing bridge with steel reinforcing rods in the United States. The bridge was built in 1889 by Ernst L. Ransome. The interior of the bridge has man-made stalactites hanging from the ceiling.
